What is a media kit — and why creators with one get hired more

Every serious collaboration starts with the same question from the brand side: “show me the numbers.” A media kit is the answer — one place where a brand can see who you are, who follows you, how engaged they are, and what you have already done for other brands.

Creators with a ready media kit get booked more for a simple reason: they are easier to say yes to. The brand's marketer can forward your numbers to their manager and get approval the same day, instead of chasing you for screenshots.

What goes in a media kit

The core is short and factual:

  • Who you are: name, niche, city, languages, a line on what your content is about.
  • Platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube — with follower counts per platform.
  • Engagement: average likes, comments and views, and your engagement rate.
  • Audience: age range, gender split, top countries or cities.
  • Past work: brands you have worked with and what you delivered.
  • Rates or a starting rate, if you choose to publish them.

The two things brands actually scrutinise

First, engagement rate versus follower count — because it is the hardest thing to fake and the best predictor of whether your audience listens to you. Second, whether your audience matches their customer. A hundred thousand followers in the wrong country are worth less to a Cairo brand than eight thousand in the right one.

A media kit that leads with those two answers — honest engagement, clear audience breakdown — beats a prettier one that hides them.

The problem with PDF media kits

The traditional media kit is a designed PDF — and it goes stale the day it is exported. Numbers from last season read as either neglect or concealment, and brands know it.

That is why KO NEKT generates your media kit from your linked accounts instead: connect Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and your profile is a live media kit — always current, comparable across creators, and attached automatically to every campaign application you send. You maintain your content; the kit maintains itself.

Put this into practice on KO NEKT

Brands post campaigns. Creators apply with a live media kit. Every deal signed with a digital contract.
